Core product is a standard for valuing private middle-market companies
A private company is priced by whoever owns it. The owner prices the company, the buyer prices the target, and funds mark their own portfolios. We hold every private deal to the same standard.
- All traditional methodologies and more, weighted
- Calibrated to the sector of the business
- Traced to the source page
How we help owners
- Know what the business is worth before a buyer names a price.
- Hold that price through diligence, with every figure sourced.
- Have the documents ready before the request list arrives.
- Take the business to market and meet buyers whose mandate fits.
- Watch what it is worth as the sector re-rates.
How we help buyers
- Price an inbound teaser in minutes, not an analyst-week.
- Read the financials out of any PDF, each figure with its page.
- Judge every offer against a defensible range.
- Run every live target through one pipeline, first contact to close.
- Find businesses already priced, from owners ready to talk.
What Value Alpha customers have to say

02 · Questions
Is it for buyers or for sellers?
Both, on the same record. An owner preparing a sale and an investor pricing a target are asking the same question from opposite sides, and the marketplace exists so the two can find each other. Advisors work on behalf of either.
Is this a valuation tool or something broader?
Broader. The valuation sits at the centre, but Value Alpha also reads your documents, holds them for diligence, tracks every offer against what the business is worth, brings it to market, and revalues it as markets move.
What do I need to start, and how long does it take?
Financial statements as PDF or spreadsheet. Three years of P&L and balance sheet is ideal; a one-page teaser is enough to begin. A defensible valuation range with a PDF report takes under 10 minutes.
What methods does Value Alpha use to value a private business?
Twenty-nine valuation methods: five run on any business (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, asset floor, bottom-up unit economics) and twenty-four are built for one sector each, including project finance, SaaS recurring, insurance brokerage, freight net-revenue take-rate, fintech lending credit, bank valuation, cap-rate REIT, Biotech sum-of-the-parts and the MedTech market model, across 43 industries supported, calibrated across 1,000+ NAICS codes. New pricing methods are under active development.
Who sees my financials?
You, and the people you choose to share them with. Client documents are never used to train models.
What do I get with a Value Alpha valuation?
A PDF report with an executive summary, methodology breakdown, scenario analysis, and a full financial appendix. An editable Excel model is available on the Pro and Team plans.
